Fysiologi

Hyphomicrobium er metylotrofe bakterier, der foretrækker C1 forbindelser f.eks. metanol, metylamin, formaldehyd og format. Denitrificerer bl.a. med metanol. Rhodoplanes er fotosyntentiserende bakterier som også kan denitrificere.
